I’m honored to participate in every project.  It’s like we’re on a journey together. I’m excited to see what we discover.

Art Director • Graphic Artist • Maestro

MY 25 year career in design started out with creating movie posters, which are very much like book covers. Translating the feel, mood and content into a single visual presentation. From there it was as an Art Director in advertising, creating a wide array of  designs for print, television, web and social media. A quick list would include logos, advertisements, brochures, magazines, newspapers, product packaging, reports, websites…and of course, books.

I’ve produced award-winning work for advertising agencies, retail stores, gaming casinos and individual writers and entrepreneurs.

Iapproach everything thru questions. Good communication trumps creativity any day, as you can do the most fantastic design possible, but if it doesn’t convey exactly what the book is about, then it has failed…both the book and the author. Asking the right questions — digging deep into the story and finding out the author’s intention for the book even after published — all of this plays into the final…and perfect design.

No matter who the client, each book deserves my best work. I don’t create designs for my portfolio, I create designs for your book.

Before I became a designer, I had a successful career in the music business. Started out as a songwriter for other artists — like David Ruffin of the Temptations, writing 4 top ten Billboard songs — and then found a new home as a composer, producer and singer on commercials for radio & tv for a long list of Fortune 500 companies. You can probably still hear my voice on a few.

Writing jingles was my first training ground in learning how to quickly grasp the essence of someone else’s ideas, and translate them into another medium. It was here that I realized I was good at that.

The object of Art is to give life a shape.
